Scale 4 - Theatre

The form of the building was derived from the "Black Ink" drawing which evoked a blanket being draped over the building.
Scale 4 - Theatre
Here is a sectional render of the facade. The pins are threaded onto a frame, and controlled by rods which are connected to them at the back. These rods are tied to the iron balcony railings inside the atrium and theatre spaces, which forms interesting patterns inside.
Bronze pin which is threaded through the frame of the building. Pushing one of these out allows light and air to enter the building. Each panel is unique, derived from the form of the overall building, as shown above by the Rhino model.

Drawings of the facade panels being pushed out to allow light and air (noise) in to penetrate the building.
Scale 4 - Theatre
The internal light qualities inside St Patrick's Cathedral helped to inspire the soaring spaces inside my Neo-Gothic Theatre.
Scale 4 - Theatre
Scale 4 is a shift to a 1:1 realised Theatre complex, with focus put on the facade. Inspiration came from the "Black Ink" animation still. I imagined the form as a blanket of light draped over an internal space.
